2016 Winners Golden Bet/Lagos SWAN Cup: The Sun Blazers too hot for Channels

The Sun Blazers yesterday became too hot for Channels Television, winning 3-0 at the on-going The Winners Golden Bet/ SWAN Cup 2016 played at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The Blazers victory came courtesy of a walkover against Channels Television who on hearing that the Apapa based team had flown in from Portugal where they had taken tutorials from Fernando Santos, who led Portugal to the Euro 2016 victory decided to go into hiding.
In the team’s second game of the day, the Cool FM conglomerate, which also included Wazobia FM, Nigeria Info ganged up against The Sun Blazers to force a 3-1 win.
The encounter was one in which the spectators cheered every move of the Sun Blazers.

Blockbuster defender, George Aluo, who manned The Sun Blazers defence was in superb form, as he marshalled the defence sending passes to gangling Solape Lawal in the midfield and support striker, Emmanuel Jemegah, as well as Chukwuka Nwabuisi whose shots were ferocious.
Blazers goalkeeper, Bunmi Ogunyale made several saves on the line but the match referee failed to see the hard tackles of the opposing team. With the scores at 2-0 during the first half, an intelligent pass from Jemegah to Nwabuisi saw the striker score a television goal that left the stadium erupting with cheers.
Today, The Blazers face NTA, which had already lost Paul Ogazi who last night failed a drug test and as such was disqualified from playing in the tournament.
Technical adviser of the team, Joe APU, whom the NFF had contacted, following Paul Le Guen’s rejection of the job was on the sidelines dishing out instructions and had promised to spell NTA with the inclusion of Emma Njoku, fresh from Brazil on a playing tour with his Spanish side.
