Brad Pitt is being investigated by police and social services in Los Angeles amid reports he got 'verbally abusive and physical with his children' on a private jet, it has been claimed.
The family is said to have been on a flight when he allegedly became 'wasted' and started 'screaming' before continuing the 'rant' when the plane landed, trying to leave the scene in a fuel truck.
TMZ reports that the alleged episode, last Wednesday, prompted Angelina Jolie to split from the 52-year-old the next day and then file for divorce. 
Pitt is believed to be under investigation by the LAPD and LA County Department of Children and Family Services. He and Jolie are said to have been interviewed as part of the probe, and there are plans for authorities to speak to the children.
A source close to Pitt told TMZ that he is taking the matter seriously but 'did not commit any abuse of his children'. MailOnline has requested comments from Jolie and Pitt this morning.

FLASH: Drama in House of Reps over budget-padding scandal


The House of Representatives on Wednesday, September 21, was thrown into a rowdy session over the budget padding allegation. 
According to a report on The Cable, the drama started after the speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara recognized Emmanuel Oker-Jev, chairman rules and business, to move a motion just as another member Aliyu Madaki was putting up his hand to be recognised.

PDP alleges attack on campaign convoy at Jattu

The campaign convoy of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) candidate in Edo, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, was reportedly attacked at Jattu, near Auchi, in Etsako west local government by suspected APC youths who  destroyed two vehicles in the process.
The two vehicles, a Mercedes Benz C class and a Toyota Sienna, were said to be on the convoy of the PDP candidate’s campaign team which had held a rally in the community.
The PDP candidate’s convoy was said to be moving out after the rally when it ran into the ambush of the two allegedly branded APC vehicles filled with youths who were chanting anti-PDP slogans.
In a bid to avoid confrontation with PDP supporters, the convoy was said to have driven out of the scene, while occupants of the APC vehicles stood their ground.

Okorocha wants pay cut for workers, proposes 3 work days per week

IMO State governor, Rochas Okorocha has said that he is considering reducing the number of work days in the state from five to three, to enable the government cut salaries.
Okorocha said this while briefing journalists on the state of affairs in Imo at his residence in Owerri on Friday.
He said the reduction of workdays would enable workers to attend to other activities that would generate money to supplement their monthly salaries to take care of their families.
“I encourage Imo workers to find additional things to do to support their families because of the economic situation we are facing in Nigeria.
“We are considering to reduce the working days from five to three in Imo, so that workers will use the rest of the days to work and support their families’’, he said.

Security: Amaechi commissions NPA’s Command, Control Centre

Transportation Minister, Chibuike Amaechi, at the weekend commissioned the Command, Control, Communication and Intelligence System (CCCIS) built by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The facility, whose approval was given in 2013 by former President Goodluck Jonathan, is a marine operation and surveillance centre that provides necessary business intelligence for safe and efficient movement of vessels and cargoes.

CBN raises MPR to 14%, retains CRR at 22.50%

As part of efforts to curb inflation and stimulate growth in the economy, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), yesterday, increased its Monetary Policy Rate (MPR)  by 200 basis points to 14 per cent from 12 per cent while it  retained the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) at 22.50 per cent and liquidity ratio at 30 per cent. Similarly, it retained  the asymmetric window at +200 and -500 points around the MPR.
Speaking after the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting in Abuja, CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, noted that in taking these decisions, the committee, recognised the weak macroeconomic environment, as reflected particularly in increasing inflationary pressure and contraction in real output growth.
